It has been a while since I have had to blog about anything, and while the title of the entry specifically mentions softball I'm going to write a little bit about what I had to do on Friday as well.
I drastically reduced my office hours so Friday was actually the first time I had been in the office in over a week, and boy was it a short stay. There wasn't really anything for me to do so Michael had me go deliver spring game tickets to local businesses on the south side of Columbia. By tickets I mean a postcard that says if you bring this card and one nonperishable food item you can get into the spring game. I delivered these to quite a few places so hopefully customers see them and come on out. The Mizzou football spring game is a large affair typically and I know we are trying to get that to change so hopefully we seem some positives next week. That, therein, lies the problem. The game is the 18th of April and we are just now giving these out. That seems a little late to me.
As for softball, it was a typical game. We had the National Anthem singer, the play ball kid, and the two Tiger lineup teams. Two other interns and I handled all that although we didn't really need that many. We had four interns today for some reason when the first softball game I worked it was only me and we did the same stuff. It was nice having the company though.
During the game we had the delivery of the game where we passed out six boxes of popcorn to fans being loud, a dizzy bat challenge where three girls spun around 8 times with their heads on a bat and then had to run the outfield wall and back, and then a t-shirt toss. It was typical marketing stuff that went off without a hitch.
The Tigers did end up losing to Mississippi State 4-8.
