This post is a couple days late, but I've been so busy over the last few days (I'm buying a house) that this is really the first time I've had time to sit down and complete it. Today was solely grunt work. I started out by getting some baseball tickets ready that were going to be passed out to the local schools here in Columbia. After that I had to walk over to the ticket office to get 8 tickets for tonight's baseball game and then I had to find manilla envelopes to put the tickets I got ready earlier in. I eventually found some so then I walked back over to the Hearnes Center where I gave the tickets to Megan and then divided up 384 sets of tickets and put them in their respectives envelopes. That was really all I had to do today. Not hard, but it actually took a while since I had to do quite a bit of walking to different places.
Since I don't have much to say about what I did today, I'm just going to gush a little bit about Megan and the rest of the marketing staff. I honestly don't know what I would have done without these people. I was a little unsure if the marketing department would be the best place for me to complete my internship because I had absolutely zero experience in marketing other than the couple of classes I have had. Megan, Michael, Andrew, and John were great people to work for and with. They didn't always make it feel like a boss-intern relationship. They did their best to let us handle what we could on our own while watching from afar and then explaining anything we had questions about. They are simply great and I will miss being a part of the team. I actually told Megan I was going to reduce my weekly office hours on Wednesday simply because I'm extremely close to the 200 hour threshold (193) and I'm getting a bit burnt out on juggling my internship, my full-time job, school, and my home life. I was still sad to tell her I was reducing my hours for these last few weeks because they are great and I didn't want to disappoint them. She understood though and I'm looking forward to these last 3 weeks with a great group of people.
