I was a lot more involved with this wrestling match than I was the last one. That probably has something to do with the fact that I'm more familiar with what is going on now and the marketing department appears to have a lot of faith in me.
Before the gates opened, I was put in charge of making sure all our poster tables were full and presentable. We had plenty of gymnastics and wrestling posters, but the other sports were severely lacking so I had to run around and lug a heavy box of posters of different sports so that our tables were full. After the gates opened I had to make sure those stayed presentable and also make sure everything was running smoothly up top. There were two other interns working our tables giving out programs and signing people up for a promotion so I had to make sure they were good. Luckily we didn't have any issues.
Once the meet started I got to relax for a little bit. I didn't have to find two more contestants for our intermission contest, but that didn't take me too much time. Once intermission came around my biggest responsibility of the day was here. I had to make sure our Tiger Style Singlet Speed Challenge went off without a hitch. I had to gather names, get permission from parents, get the information to our PA announcer, and gets the kids ready to go. It went great and I didn't have any issues except for kids trying to run the wrong way at first which I quickly corrected. I'm hoping that they see how much they can trust me and they start to give me more stuff that I can do without constant supervision.
After intermission it was time to relax again. I had to do a couple things like remove reservation signs, but it was nothing that took too much time. It gave me the chance to watch what was happening on the mat and try to figure it all out. I'm still not sure of everything yet, but I'm learning more and more each time.
The wrestling team did win and moved their record to 14-0, 4-0 on the season!
