Let me start of by saying that tonight was crazy cold! Or maybe I should say crazy cold for April. If it had been December or January it may not have felt as cold, but it was pretty miserable at times tonight.
Other than the biting cold, it was a pretty standard baseball game. There were 3 of us intern and 2 Tiger Crew girls and everything was divided up among the four of us. Before the game started I had to help with getting the National Anthem singer ready to go as well as the play ball kid. The National Anthem singer had done it before so she was prepared and the play ball kid was a little older than what we had been choosing so he was good to go as well. The only bad thing was that the play ball kid took off his coat to show off his Mizzou t-shirt and wouldn't let us give him a jacket to keep him warm until he needed to go on the field. He did a great job though.
After the pre-game antics I first had to man the marketing table until the middle of the 2nd inning. There isn't much to do at the marketing table after the game starts since most fans are already in their seats, but we keep it open for a little bit just in case. After that I helped with the "Quarter Minute to Win It" promotion which I've talked about before, and then I took the lead on the 7th inning stretch which was a bit new for me. I've helped with the stretch before, but it had never been left fully up to me which was a bit sad.
I also figured out that tonight was my last event working with one of my fellow interns. I think she and I have become pretty good friends over these last few months and it was a bit sad realizing we wouldn't work together anymore.
More bad news is that the Gators beat the Tigers 5-1.
